Bliss

Just finished reading: Harry Potter – Deathly Hallows (love it – only part I don’t like it that too many characters were killed – realistic but for a children book? Nah! Nikko so want to kill me when I was discussing with Wilfred about the book the other day. Hahaha!).

This week’s novels week– spending time reading Julia Quinn and I gotto say ‘Yes Girls the books’ great!’. We will have so much fun talking and laughing about it. Almost close to my favorite romance author of all time – Dame Barbara Cartland. Of course, this is a modern type of romantic novels set in those olden times but you girls have to read Barbara Cartland because nothing comes close to romances like that! *wink*wink* Guess there is where my ‘hopeless romantic-ness’ build upon.
Currently Reading:
(1) Kybalion
(2) Entering the Castle, Caroline Myss – On the 1st Mansion now – talks about the conflict between the outer and inner self. Beautifully written and explain – mom and I shared so much laughter upon it. Also talks about spirituality versus Mysticism – the journey into the soul.
(3) The One – Kathy Freston (when you have someone to share the thots on – priceless)

Just watched: Transformer (okie okie… YOU WIN! Happy? It is truly a good movie – build up was good, graphic was impressive, storyline was beautiful, expression and spacing of the emotions was terrific and I simply just love the way they deploy the jets) Well is Michael Bay so I should not be surprise right and this time he did not over do the scenes. Lol! Well okie – someone is so enjoying this – thanks for literally buying the tickets and forcing me to watch? Okie okie.. I walk in voluntarily and can’t stand that smirk on your face next to me the whole night – still thank you my dear – is a terrific movie and glad I don’t have to missed it.)

Teaching of Abraham by Esther and Jerry Hicks – Law of Attraction. I just have to say this is one good documentary/movie that you all MUST watch. I won’t spoil the thing By writing more – because something in the world must be felt and experience with the heart. *wink*
Want to watch: RUSH HOUR 3 and BABEL

Just listened: Michael Buble – Call Me Irresponsible
Now listening: Andre Bocelli – Amore

Is a rather speechless week – time just passed, lots of things happen yet everything is falling into places, clearer and clearer. Is a very very blissful kind of feeling. “Blissful” mhm - ‘When you follow your bliss… door will open where you would not have thought there would be doors, and where wouldn’t be a door for anyone else’- Joseph Campbell. That is this week’s flow. Is nice when I make a commitment just a week ago to have a more solid ground, lots of time spend on my own reflecting, contemplating and writing.

Ya I know, I know I say to a lot of you lunches, dinners, teas, meeting up and dates is crazy how my schedule is going at the rate of two week ahead of me – and now having to take time of for myself too – just want you all to know that I am very grateful for the patience and understanding. Please be assure that I did not disappear or ignore or forget anyone – is just that I needed this time to ground my vision and direction. I am just so glad to say I am seeing it – so much clearer than before and the experience of it is ‘BLISS’.

Spend one weekend in Hatjai and Perlis – was a wonderful trip. Lots of food, shopping and fun! The Regent of Perlis was there with His consort at the dinner on Sunday – I have to say I am impressed. Living in Penang I am so not use to the idea of a royal family and its protocol. However, after this experience I am to say I am impress with the Royal family of Perlis – for the down to earth being with their people kind of character, the loyalty shown by their entourage and the joy and sincere presence they extended that night – dancing and laughing with us. It’s truly a wonderful night. The princess is so beautiful and elegant. Is like a fairytale. Nice!

The week went by just a nice mixture of work, social and solitude. Was fun lunching with the Master Chef himself in Soy @ G-Hotel – a joy of knowing what’s real good food – *wink*. Thought we came to conclusion is hard to be low profile in Penang – so – good luck trying! Hahaha!

Ajisan Ramen is open!!! Lol.. yes yes yes!! Pork Pork Pork!!! *wink* JoWei, ST and Nikko had so much fun on my ‘porkiness’ and it just end nicely with that large glass of A&W rootbeer. Hahaha!

Had dinner and jazz at Audee’s on Friday – oh I got news I got news – Paku is playing on Friday night – they are very good and guess what Audee had the recipe for Mudpie!! Terence is just going to laugh at me and with the look at my face when Audee announce it! Lol… is the signature Singapore mudpie that I love so much – sigh writing of it makes me feel like eating one now! Hehehe! Mudpie..mudpei…mudpie…. *laughs* I still remember Michael promise to cook me this mudpie in Melbourne - hey where's my mudpie? hehehe!

Also had lunch at Spice Garden Rasa Sayang – food is good and I love the ambience. Is a long time since I spend a lazy afternoon on Saturday up there like that. Very nice peaceful feeling. Hehehe! Reminds me Eugene Bro used to take us 3 monsters up there for c-o-c-o-n-u-t on Sundays and watching sunset. Nice!

The rest is all my time and work. Work progressing so well – I am amaze with the opportunities the market is preparing itself for. I am constantly impressed with the new ideas, concepts and inspiration that are creating in this world. I am so intrigue by it. Proud to be or rather have my part to play in it. My boss been driving me to think into a deeper level and I am slowly grasping more concepts and ideas. Ironically my work is highly P&C, as much as I wish I can share it with more people. Well well – cest la vie!

Moi? – La Vie Cest Belle!

Khor Kheng Lee

His MMS this year

Well well, I used to think - to know how many true friends we have is to calculate how many friends I can call at 3am in the morning if I needed to make that call. However, in today’s 24/7 global communication world and all those ‘night owls’ being awake late at night somehow my perspective towards this statement change. Although that, it is still consider rude in any of our culture to call a non close friend too late in the hours at night – therefore, those who are given the privilege has certainly secured their position as being important friends.

LOL – so why the long story? Because not many people in Jennifer Lim’s life can call her at 1am in the morning and say this “hey I have been reading your blog and waiting to be mention – how come never write about me one?” haha! And mom being there her ‘quota’ session in my room the conversation goes like this:

Mom : So late d who’s that?
Me: KK Lee
Mom : Wah Ah Lee long time never see you d ah, when you taking aunty to clubbing?
Me : Wei my mother ask you when you taking her clubbing?
KK Lee: Aunty noler very long time never go d, now only stay at home (however, each time I went to the clubs, and that is RARE I still see Ah Lee there) *wink**wink*
Mom : Then why so long never come see me?
Me: Wei my mom ask why so long never come see her?
KK Lee : Becos aunty both your daughter also don’t want me d…
Mom : Like that ah… so when you gonna…
Me: My mom ask….

Bla bla bla… LOL –end-

So even mom can find it amusing when he call at 1am – KK Lee – you gotto be something man!

So here I am writing about the man who wants to be written about – Mr Khor Kheng Lee. How feels happy d or not? *wink**wink*

Mhm.. Kheng Lee – is in every word of what is describe as a ‘true friend’– loyal, reliable, responsible, caring, thoughtful and someone who is always there 24/7. Our friendship takes us back exactly 10 years now – wow – now I realize is 10 years, we were oriented and inducted the same year into the same Leo Club – and after that the world is ours! Till today we are the in same Lions Club, cracking the same joke over and over again yet never bored about it. What makes KK Lee so special to me is that for the last 10 years he has never forgotten my birthday – even I was in Aussieland or North Pole – somehow or other the birthday message is faithfully delivered on that very date. This year the message came in MMS format in the morning and about 11pm he calls again and says “Happy Birthday dear”. I said, “Thanks, I got your mms this morning” and Kheng Lee says, ‘ya but better make sure, don’t want to break record and then later if forget your birthday sure ‘kena’ lifetime nagging’. Lol !! It is the ‘fear’ motivation now I know. *wink**wink*

So now, since you ‘force’ me to write *mhm I hope I remember what you ask me to write. Hahaha. Just kidding! Just kidding!* these are the reasons that makes KKLee such a special person to me, my family and all the friends we shared –

1) A fiercely loyal friend

2) Available at 24 hours – driver, dinner, accidents, “lost keys” *wink**wink*, listening to my grumbling, sad, depress, happy, celebration, drunk, hungry, bored, heart break, festival, clubbing etc etc etc

3) The only guy who took me shopping so that I can buy for him his first prom date’s dress, hand bags and shoe – and I pick her flowers too. Yalor never send me flowers also!!

4) Take my parents to clubbing – see how many people can do that. Haha!

5) Take me clubbing and be my ‘bodyguard’. Hahaha! Trust me – Kheng Lee is one of the most influential figure around the clubs in Penang and don’t under estimate the word ‘influential’ is goes beyond free, need not queue to get in and reserving the best seats in the club. *wink**wink*

6) Being super protective

7) My 3am mamak mate!

8) Cook ‘cola’ chicken for my mother and buy roti for her!

9) CNN network news. Including where my ‘father’, ‘sister’ whereabouts. Hahaha!! I enjoy this one most I guess!

10) Being there for me at my lowest points of life – although I’ll get scolding for crying in public area – emotional me – ya he is never the ‘I manja you’ type! Sigh!

11) Taking his Gf(s) and potential Gf(s) to my house so my mom can see! *wink*

12) Entertaining me with his sparing partner – Milo Tan who is now in the UK probably went into his PhD d cos no sound no shadow since January this year. Mhm I kinda miss those jokes of hokkien mee, nasi lemak and milo. -sigh-

13) Disappearing a few months off my life and somehow reappear again. Yalor now I realize you n Milo Tan like to play ‘chip more – now you see now you don’t. So the very answer why you weren’t written about in this blog is because you disappear the last few months I started the blog! Lol!!

14) One of those rare person who would do crazy stuff like drive to Genting after clubbing at 3am n then take a spin and come back!! That was so so so cool!!

15) Was there at every dinners and projects I organized – finishing all the food! Okie and doing all the work too!

16) Was there at every of my birthday parties to blow balloons and pick rubbish after that!

17) Was there so that we can all throw him into the pool after those parties clean up!

18) Was there to book my every trip to Pulau Paya!!

19) Was there to send me off when I leave for the country to Aussie – those ungodly hours in the morning – well he is indeed there 24/7.

20) Just by being you and being there!!!!!

K ler… long enough d lor hor? Hehehehe… thank you dear… for all these 10 years of sincere and honest friendship. These 10 years of genuine concern and care. Thank you!!

p/s: I am going to foresee that after this, my left hand, right hand, sai lohs, sai muis, left leg and right leg is going to msg and call me and say – Tai Ka Che only Kheng Lee important ler.. What about us? Lol…. I surrender – you girls and guys are all great souls and it never make me more proud than to have served together with all of you. :)

Dinner at QEII :)

VIP Dining with a View

Classic Lightings

Lobster ! Yum Yum!

Cough Mixture! ;)

Grass! Grassy Grass! hoho!

QEII, Penang - truly an extra ordinary place to be. The deco is tastefully done and the environment blends very well with each other. Got to thank Aunty A for letting us view the ‘private collections’ and touring us around the outlet. Lol – I am pretty impress with the toilet door – apparently Channel, Japan inspiration! :)

Food is fantastic – lol – Uncle TC is probably right – we had the best of everything because we went Chinese style dining on western cuisine. Dessert was happy endings – when Isabel says “we’ll have everything on the menu”! Hahaha! My recommendation? E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!

However, true discovery for the night - don’t know if you guys did but I heard this many times - ‘if you mix the type of alcohol you drink you will get drunk’. Uncle TC just proven the theory wrong – lol! Started with beer then to wine and finish with whiskey – and I am saying like not just a glass of each – he is still going back to office to work after dinner. This is so cool!! Hahaha!
Thanks to Dato’ Uncle (haha! Love getting on his nerve - I am so enjoying this) for the invitation! We 3 sisters truly get to be ‘kampungan’ all over again!! Baby G – I am so not to drink that grass drink and cough mixture the next round! Lol!! Where are we dining next?

Morning Meditation

I revive my morning meditation practice this week – lol – ya was being a little lazy and busy the last few months. :)

And one of the answers was discovered to my writing on ‘LOST’ the day before. For me is like, WOW, when we write down and communicate to the universe the universe does feedback! :) The answer just came. I was like amazed! LOL!
I know one person will be truly curious to know my breakthrough because we were having this 5 hours conversation on Tuesday night and he kept pestering me on what open up for me from the sharing that night. *wink* Sorry dearest I wasn’t exactly evading your question on purpose, I was just afraid to face it. Well gotto thank you for being so understanding and letting me off the hook at night. It is true that there is no way when two people share and nothing opens up. Will share with you when we see each other next.

However, I love today’s contemplation for me – ‘Going to the Post Office’

Thoreau -
“You may depend on it, that poor fellow who walks away with the greatest number of letters, proud of his extensive correspondence, has not heard from himself this long while”

Do we listen to ourselves? What does our heart, our mind and our soul says? Do we hear the voices of passion and love, voices of virtue and wisdom? What do I hear in my voice? What do you hear in yours?

I am putting a more solid ground to my life starting 2 nights ago – a promise of more time for quiet contemplation, more time for writing and developing ideas/vision/dreams.

Love this quote I came across last night,

Ralph Waldo Emerson:
What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what your duty is better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great person is one who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.

If any of you out there have something to share, do post it! :) Would love to hear your view.

Dinner Experience at Feringghi Grill

The VIP dining room

The Chandelier

Dessert - Yummy!
More Dessert - Yummy Yummy!

Elmo decided to join us for dinner. :)

I have been dreaming to dine here ever since God knows when but never seems to find someone who is either interested, free or in the same state (right Mr R.Ong?) to dine.

Yet as usual, God's plan is always the most beautiful - my first time at Feringghi Grill will be another lifetime experience of fine dining!

The dinner certain draw a lot of W-O-W factors - VIP room dining, beautifully decorate long table, meticulous layout of cutlery – is just amazing! Yet we are all so casual, totally laid back and relax – the waiters just laugh so much with us or maybe even at us! :)

The food – PASTA by the King of Pasta – Vincenzo Spinosi currently the visiting Chef at Rasa Sayang so we gotto try his entire signature dish menu. I love the selection we we order because we ordered E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G on the menu, including desserts. Hahaha… and even the desserts are made of pastas! It is a truly unique menu. Raspberry pasta mix dessert! Crazy fun!

Lucky I SOS phone on the right day. I enjoyed myself so much last night – laughing and laughing! Thanks Aaron for the invitation and thanks ‘Tai Loh’ Nikko for dinner! You both are AWESOME!

My New Toy!

My new toy :)

Nokia 6300 - Voted Stuff Reader's Choice 2007 - Best Mobile Phone! Truly thin, classy and in every way sophisticated

However not only the phone is cool, but I find the process of buying the phone truly inconceivable. I was having lunch with ‘The Lunch Gang’ – Aaron, Wilfred etc on Thursday at Gurney Plaza. As gadget kings (ya fully updated walking gadget dictionary) they swap out their new, latest, very sophisticated phone, communicator etc – wow – truly charming! [For the record they all carry at least 2 mobiles each]. So I shared that I am looking to change my mobile and probing to find out which phone is better. Without hesitation Wilfred just said, let’s go mobile shopping after lunch. So off we go after lunch, to this shop in Gurney – Wilfred shows me the Nokia 6300 and there was an offer on the phone. What’s cool is Kok Hing upon hearing I want to buy the phone call his friend and strike a very good deal there and then on the phone. He collected the phone for me the very night and Voila I got my phone when we had lunch at Sky the next day! Hahaha! Talking about service, efficiency and network marketing! I got all that experience in buying a mobile phone – a truly undefined Penang Cultural Experience! :)

Of course that is not the end of the story, hahaha, me being me is just ‘dumb’ when it comes to electronics. I had problem transferring data from my old phone to the new. So I went for S-O-S service – hahaha - thanks to Aaron, Nikko and Kok Hing – they have to – er all I know is ‘bluetooh’, ‘PC Suite’, ‘search’, ‘press ok button’ and again VOILA is all done!!

Hey guys – really thank you. Is a wonderful mobile buying experience – maybe you all want to diverse your business? *wink**wink* I better remember to pay for my phone! hahaha!

World Music Festival - Penang

Ashwin - The Man! :)

Nikko - our "Tai Loh" - 2nd day

Us on the 1st day!

Me and Jojo! We actually wearing the same blue. Day 1!

Note *mhm - a little drawback of the rain thot I find - we did not take much pictures even so many of us are there. Daniel finally got his Nikon SLR but gotto hide it in the bag. I did not get the picture with the rest too. lol. Poor Terence take pictures for us but dun get to take for himself. Next year, Dan - we going to ask Ash for this special XSC space where we can drink and dance all night! Brother you heard [READ] us okie!! Where was the free flow of beer? *wink**wink*

It such a fantastic event and I am so proud of you Ashwin - the Project Manager! Brother you make us all proud - for having this great idea to bring it to Penang, for all the hard work put into organizing this event - gosh - it is truly the talk of the town. Everyone I meet during the week was like - hey you going to the world music fest this week? where is taman kuari?. You are a true born marketer my dear!

I know there is the rain – but you know what – you are so right – is MUSIC – people who is passionate about music don’t mind the rain! They will be there anyway and judging from the crowd that night – we love the music in the rain! Hahaha!

Got to say Saturday finale was the best – my favorite. They are truly A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I found myself drawn to the guitar and flute sound this time around. Don’t know why, not exactly before but this time these two musical instruments draw me to them. Mhm I am curious too! Can’t wait to get the video clips from Nikko!

Look forward to your Jazz Fest next Ash, and I truly love the ‘See you in 2008’ banner joke! :)

p/s: Jay just send me the song we heard that night from that last group on Sat - wow is so good. Well he is not telling me how he got it thot - magic he says - lol. Anyway thanks!! Its really good!

Lost

After so many months I realize that there is a part of my emotion emerges - I am still denying it, not feeling it, just afraid. I guess I can’t put it into words – for if I can it will already be clear for me. Anyway this morning this song strikes me – don’t know why but I don’t need an answer for everything right - but it is definately for a reason. Of course we "don’t have to rationalize and analyze every single thing in our life" – *hint**hint* - *wink**wink*
MICHAEL BUBLE
"Lost"
I can't believe it's over
I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing that was on the wall
If I'd only knew
The days were slipping past
That the good things never last
That you were crying
Summer turned to winter
And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognized the girl you are today
And god I hope it's not too late
It's not too late'
Cause you are not alone
I'm always there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through'
Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When your worlds crashing down
And you can't bear the thought
I said, babe, you're not lost
Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy
But you're not
Things have seem to changed
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly fly fly away
'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through'
Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When the worlds crashing down
And you can not bear to crawl
I said, baby, you're not lost

Memories of Melbourne

Had some time after class last night, totally exhausted from work, studying, partying and everything - then some nostalgic moment and creativity transpire… my reminiscing is always of Melbourne. Maybe I was once really really happy there…

Max Brenner, Koko Black, Opera n Plays,
They sound like so far away,

Trampoline ice cream - is all in my dream,
Cold Rock with Kit Kat, there is more that I can get,
They both lies in that Glenferrie stretch,

Pancakes at Stoker, by the fire
Brings back memory I so desire,

Il Dolce Freddo for durian ice cream with dinner at Lygon, such a bygone,
Fish n Chips @ Williamstown, can even remember the Kilpatrick Oysters now,

Ruan Thai, where laughters made us high,
Miss Marple's scone and tea, can just make me heart go 'weeeeee',

Bridge Road to Bourke Street, even I found those seductive,
Chadstone and Chapel Street, no way I could resist,

Mt Dandenong, the memory in my mind still so strong,
there was a space I felt totally belong,

There was Fitzroy Garden, where I will visit so often,
it was the answer to all those questions,

Strolling along Yarra alone is something I would always do,
It helps me remember those precious times with you,

All memories lead me back to Melbourne, four years ago;
did I fell in love with the place or did I with you?

Cravings

:P just finish a 3 hours meeting – straight – mind blowing. The only news is that I slept at 5am last night finishing some work. I am so t-i-r-e-d mentally. Craving for some time and space – my brain… got another meeting in ½ hour time and a business meeting tonight - wonder how I can sustain it.

Really craving for some quiet time, ‘too many minds’ [Last Samurai] and too many things in my mind – maybe I’ll do my beach walk tomorrow – been a while since I did that. Mhm… sand.. sand.. ;)
